Chinese manufactures Huawei have teamed up with UK phone network EE and US microchip makers Qualcomm to trial LTE cat 9 technology. With 410Mbps download speeds achieved it looks as though phone users will be able to use their mobile devices for some serious data heavy tasks.

The test used a Snapdragon 810 processor from Qualcomm which has an integrated LTE-Advanced next-gen modem.

4G was launched back in 2012 in the UK and EE was the first network to offer 4G, using Huawei kit for the infrastructure.

Currently the company is up to 4G LTE-Advanced category 4 which supports speeds of up to 150Mbps but there aren’t many compatible devices on the market yet.

If your looking for a new phone with 4G capabilities head over to the Chinavasion store for some very competitive devices.
