Chinavasion Bulletin **New Year Edition**

What’s been happening in the world of Chinavasion this week?

I’d like to start off by wishing everyone a really happy new year and a prosperous 2011 from all of us here at Chinavasion!
China, which produces 97% of the world’s ‘rare earth’ supplies, has said that it will cut exports by 10% this coming year. This is pretty important for gadgets, as these elements are used heavily in the manufacture of screens etc. Perhaps the prices of rare earth will rise accordingly which may impact upon costs of devices.
There is an interesting article on rare earth in the Independent, which discusses the impact that its production has on the environment.
On Monday I published a useful introductory blog for resellers wondering how to take advantage of social networking and media to market their business. With 500 Million users, you’d be mad not to have a Facebook presence. Read how here.
On Wednesday I looked at how the VAT rise in the UK to 20% could affect resellers of gadgets and what your options are in the face of it. Take a look at this news here.
Adrian’s Pick Of The Week
Why settle for either a red or a green laser pen when you could have a Astronomy Grade Green-Red Laser Pointer Pen (50mW)?

Here Are Some Of The Customer Questions We’ve Been Asked Recently:
“I heard from one of my friends that EMS has encountered a big delay. Is that true?”
I should say it is partly true, but it is just a temporary situation. Before Christmas until Chinese New year is one of the peak seasons of EMS. Therefore there is a very high demand for EMS service. And the weather in Europe is another factor of causing the delay. If your package is still in transit with EMS we recommend you wait for at least one more week. We are currently working with EMS and expect to improve this situation within 7 to 10 days. Thank you very much for your time and patience!
