Seven Reasons Why UPnP Spells Love
When you’re looking for a high-definition media server to top off your custom home theater system you want something that can do anything. It’s for this reason we’ve fallen in love with the UPnP high-definition media server. Find out why.
You wouldn’t put your remote control in the fridge, so why put an apple on top of your TV? Here’s some reasons why we think our high-definition media server is a better bet.
Not so long ago in a place that’s not so far away there was the computer, there was your home theatre, and never the twain should meet. In fact… at the very heart of your home theater system was a clunky old DVD player or VCR. Wireless home theater systems hadn’t even been invented yet.
Thankfully all that has changed, and the home PC and home theatre systems are merging into one glorious whole and digital TV is starting to come into its own.
While TiVOs and your Apple TVs are great devices to add to your home they’re not exactly the be all and end all when it comes to in home entertainment. In fact when it comes to dragging photos, videos and other files off your computer they’re downright lacklustre. That’s why we’ve fallen in love with our UPnP high-definition media server. In a strictly platonic way, of course.
The upnp high definition media server, were pretty sure you’ll be a fan too.
1) You can watch YouTube videos and other streaming media
While it is possible to watch YouTube videos, or anything from the internet, on your TV if you posses the conversion software and the technical knowhow it’s not exactly automatic.
We’ve found the process to be 10 times easier with the UPnP high-definition media server. Just type the YouTube URL into the the computer software and with a little bit of wireless streaming technology it’s there on your home theater system.
2)You can hook up whatever you want
Sorry you owners of older TV sets, the Apple TV box only loves HDMI screens. But not the UPnP high-definition media server. Whether you’ve got a home theater system that uses a RCA connection, a composite connection a SCART card, or a HDMI plug the media server has the connection you need.

With the UPnP high definition media server you’re able to watch Chris Crocker lose it on the big screen with no delay…WOOHOO
3)It looks good
Just like red cars just go faster pretty much any gadget looks good if it’s a shiny silver or a shiny black. It’s black it’s shiny and it’s smooth…what more can you say about it it’d almost make your home theatre more attractive than the home theater video that you’re playing on it. (maybe it’s more than platonic).
4)It’ll play pretty much anything
What has Steve Jobs got against non-proprietary formats? It’s almost like he’s not interested in it if Apple can’t put a fence around it.
This server will sort you out with pretty much anything you want to play. In fact lets stack the two players up side by side:

5)You’re getting more for less
If only the storytellers of yesteryear knew what was going on today they’d make their apples silver instead of gold.
For roughly half the price of other wireless streaming devices (which includes the ability to waive all proprietary rental and shops) you’ll be able to hook a UPnP High Definition Media Server in your house.
6)Ease of use
We just put the CD into our computer, just clicked a few buttons and then our computer was ready to go… hooking the box to the home theater system was easier than easy. The ability to easily change the connection details. And a WiFi receiver or LAN input was definitely a joy to behold, as it made both wired and wireless connection possible.
To sum it up setting up the box was easier than easier.
7)Plug media directly into the server
We found the SD, USB, and CF card in made it possible to see movies, photos and listen to music from friends without plugging it into the computer.
There you have it, seven reasons why we, and now perhaps you, love the UPnP high definition media server too.
