It was something of a frustrating week here at Chinavasion. YouTube went down for the count in China for the week and we were left gnashing our teeth with a whole bunch of videos we wanted to share with the world and nowhere to put them. But finally things have returned to normal and we can update you with what happened on the world wide web of Internet video.

While we have told you about Stormannormancom he didn’t have free stuff before. Anybody who has spent any time in the world of Open Source will be familiar with the two programs he is describing, Gimp and Audacity. A good source for these, plus hundreds more is Sourceforge, a fascinating site which can keep you entertained for hours.

While YouTube was unaccessible in China this week we still managed to get up one or two videos, which included this high quality camera. A lot of staff members were impressed by this camera just as much as you’re likely to be. Just check out these features.

If you’re anything like us you got very excited when it was announced that studio executives had announced that a new Get Smart movie was imminent. We were so excited we looked through our back catalog and found an item that Maxwell Smart would feel right at home with. This great little spy camera, it is concealed neatly in an aluminum lighter case and can take up to 100 photos.

You may or may not know that You-tube has announced the winners of its annual video awards…mind you with the video ‘ leave Brittany alone’ by Chris Crocker almost winning the prize for commentary perhaps not winning is a good thing after all.
