When Xiaomi Came into Existence:

The popularity and rapid growth of China's smartphone business Xiaomi owes its focus on developing a fan economy. Brands actively create, invest into and cultivate a fan group that purchases through affinity lifestyle.

They're one of the largest in China to design, grow and sell smartphones, cellular apps and consumer electronics for those who don't know anything about Xiaomi. Founded in 2010 by Lei Jun, MIUI (Me–) began the same year by beginning their android- firmware. Xiaomi launched its first smartphone, the Mi1, only in August 2011.

As of the start of the second quarter of 2018, Xiaomi was the fourth largest smartphone manufacturer in the world, leading both in the world's largest market, China and the second most important market, in India.

As of May 2019, Xiaomi was placed among the top five markets for smartphones, with the first smartphones launched in August 2011. And, since then there has been no turning back for Xiaomi as this year it celebrates its10th anniversary.

The Much Anticipated MI Fan Festival:

The much awaited MI Fan Festival 2020 kick started this year with the theme, “Live smart, buy smart”.  Quite an encouraging tagline for the smart life technological innovation has brought to people.

As a part of the fan festival, Xiaomi unveiled 22 new products which have been placed in the MI Fan Festival Sale page under various categories.  Last year MI Fan Festival was hosted in India with a limited period sale on Poco and Redmi smartphones as well Mi TV models. Best part it also conducted a Re. 1 flash sale.

However, it doesn’t seem likely that this year would see such a trend, considering lockdowns due to COVID-19 and impact it has had on operations and sales.

Xiaomi made a total revenue exceeding RMB200 bil, which is upto 17.7 percent year-on-year-in 2019.

The MI Fan Festival has been a way to show gratitude to MI Fans since 2011. However, this year’s Covid-19 has been a great loss for not just the company but MI lovers as well. Keeping this in mind, Shou Zi Chew, President of International and CFO of Xiaomi said, “In this difficult time when we are facing the Covid-19 pandemic, we at Xiaomi prioritise the health and safety of global Mi fans and customers. In light of that, we are trying our best to shift our arena to e-commerce and online channels to make sure everyone can enjoy the great deals for our latest technologies.”

He goes on to add, “For this year’s Mi Fan Festival, Xiaomi has collaborated with 49 overseas e-commerce platforms in different markets to maximise the reach of our highly innovative products, hoping everyone will be able to enjoy our amazing products with honest prices at the comfort of their homes.”

The Most Popular Phones Produced by Xiaomi:

Poco is the latest budget-oriented brand of the company, which was first used in India before it entered other parts of the world. The Pocophone F1 provides far more than the Redmi 5A. The processor Snapdragon 845 is much better than anything in the Redmi range. The color display is fine, and its maximum brightness is fairly bright.

However, Gorilla Glass 3 is used, which Xiaomi's supply chain finds convenient. The device is available in blue, red or black with a polycarbonate back or with the rubbery Kevlar backpack with a special "Armored" edition.  There is a thick notch on the front of the screen and thin bezels on the edges.

4.       Redmi 8

Xiaomi has already taken a few steps in terms of features with the launch of Redmi 8. This phone is available in 3 colors: Black Onyx, Blue Sapphire and Red Ruby. The last was our unit of analysis and we love the warm, deep joy that is obviously not just a covering on the air. No needless gradients, patterns, or textures are available here.

This phone's back is clear, but not slippery. It is oddly immune to fingerprints, but you want to use a case to prevent scratches and abrasions. It is only bent on the edges and corners for comfort. The front of the Redmi 8 is very ordinary-the 6.22-inch panel has thick boundaries and the top is a waterdrop design.Besides, the USB Type-C port on the Redmi 8A entry-level shocked Xiaomi, so obviously one of them is here too.

The 3.5 mm audio port and single speaker are attached at the bottom of the handset. The power and volume buttons are put on the right and two nano SIMs and a microSD card are approved in the tray on the bottom. Contrary to its lower-cost sibling, the Redmi 8 is fitted with an infrared emitter to track equipment.

A great phone for all Redmi lovers. Grab yours today at discounted price!

Reason Behind the Popularity of Xiaomi:

A mid-range smartphone only costs a company about $100 to $150 but they end up spending most of their money on marketing and advertisement. That's why a $100 smartphone costs $300. So, what Xiaomi did was minimized the advertisement costs and sold smartphones directly from their own websites. This meant that $100 cell phones were cheaper and with higher quality. Once customers saw the inexpensive phone they began to purchase.

Xiaomi therefore became famous.  Xiaomi's business model was different from the other phone manufacturers which made it what it is now.

Honor (owned by Huawei), OnePlus, and Meizu are a few other manufacturers of smartphones that copied the Xiaomi business model after seeing the success of Xiaomi.
