Android, eBooks, Tablets.

The trinity of everything that is ‘hot’ when it comes to tech gadgets

You would probably find one, if not all of these three things scattered all through any tech blog, magazine or tv/radio show that you would care to name.

And, like any tech that is both new and in the public eye people can expect to pay a premium for tech that is not actually as good as the tech that is just around the corner.

Previously, there was one thing you could do to get the latest gadgets at half the price, head to China.

However, buying from China is not possible this time round as the very tech gadgets that are ‘hot’ in the western market are also drawing a lot of attention here as well

As you can see, there’s plenty on offer in China but, the questions you need to ask yourself are:

  • A) Are the tech gadgets you buy really going to be at the low price you want?
  • B) Are these devices going to live up to your expectations?
  • C) If you’re a reseller/dropshipper are you going to get the level of support you need to justify selling these items?

Lets take a look at those questions individually.

Are the tech gadgets you buy really going to be at the lower price you want?

At Chinavasion we’re always after the lowest priced gadgets. And a while ago we were alerted to a very interesting phone which was sold under the moniker A3.

However, the phone itself was on the expensive end of things with a US$220+ buy price, which was unacceptable for the specifications and capabilities of the phone.

This is a recurring theme in all of these fields. And, if you expect an Android device/eBook reader/tablet of any form of quality you can expect to pay over US$200.

Are these devices going to live up to your expectations?

Remember that A3? the overly-expensive Android phone? We’ll here’s what one reviewer thought of it:

  • No Android Marketplace App
  • Terrible Camera
  • Low memory capacity
  • Poor packaging

This is actually fairly consistent with what other people are finding on a number of other devices, especially the fake iPads that are powered by an 600 MHz Rockchip 2808A processor and 128MB of RAM or less.

And that’s even if you get something that matches up to the documentation

If you’re a reseller/dropshipper are you going to get the level of support you need to justify selling these items?

Dropshippers, resellers and anybody selling electronics online needs some form of support from their supplier.

Whether its answers, repairs or refunds it’s important to have some support yourself so that you can pass that support onto your customers, maintain a good relationship with customers and grow your overall seller reputation and reach.

And if you’re a customer you’re going to need some answers when something doesn’t work the way it should or if something breaks when it shouldn’t.

So what time is the right time to buy?

It might be sooner than you think.

Our sourcing team is keeping constant watch over these products and says that things are improving day by day.

In fact, we’ve seen several devices which are verging on what a reseller/end customer would be happy with in the west.

So if you’re after cutting edge tech gadgets from the west then you shouldn’t need to wait long, just let Chinavasion, social networks, forums and hands-on reviews be your guide!
