1)  How to block ads on Android in Chrome

Most Android phone users are using Google Chrome as this web browser has been automatically installed onto your device. If you simply wish to get rid of pop-ups while browsing the web, there really is no need to install a second web browser. Chrome for Android offers a simple way to disable pop-ups.

In order to disable pop-ups in Chrome, you’ll first have to open up your web browser. Once you’ve done so, tap on the three dots that can be found in the top right corner. After this, choose ‘’Settings’’ followed by ‘’Site Settings’’.

Once you’re in the ‘’Site Settings’’ tab, scroll down until you see ‘’Pop-Ups’’. Make sure that the slider here is set to ‘’Blocked’’. Once this has been enabled, you should be able to browse the web without being bothered by third-party pop-ups.

In order to lower your data costs while using Chrome even further, the browser also offers a ‘’Data Saver’’ option. When enabled, this feature will compress aspects of websites that are not required to be loaded on mobile devices. Therefore, you’ll be able to enjoy a smoother web browser experience. Not only will this increase your web browsing speeds, it will also help you save on your data bill as your Android phone will no longer struggle to load unnecessary advertisements and animations.

When Data Saver is enabled it may lead to a somewhat flatter internet experience. Additionally, some web pages may look a little bit different as not all animations will be loaded. Enabling and disabling Data Saver is, however, a two-second job so in case you do not like it, you’ll always be able to turn it off again.

2) Block ads on Android by using an alternative web browser

In case you’re not that impressed by Chrome and do not mind to change to another web-browser, there are certain possibilities for you to efficiently get rid of mobile ads in general.

By far the easiest method would be to download the Opera browser. With this browser, you’ll be able to use your Android phone or tablet without ever being bothered by adverts again. This is possible because the Opera Browser contains a built-in ad blocker. Unlike Chrome that only lets you block pop-ups, the Opera Browser helps you to get rid of mobile advertisement in its whole. In order to start using it, you don’t have to do anything. Simply install it and you’ll be able to use it to surf the web like any other browser.

It has been created by the same company that has developed the notorious AdBlock desktop extension. Therefore you can be assured that this mobile browser will bring along an outstanding performance. Just as with the Opera Browser, all you have to do is install the Ad-Block Browser and you’ll be all set to conquer the internet without the annoyance of adverts.

Nowadays, there are plenty of ad-blocking applications to be found online. Two of the most used and best-known Apps that help you get rid of Advertisements as a whole are AdAway and Adblock Plus.

AdAway has been around for quite a while and is probably one of the most used ad-block Apps for Android phones. It is easy and free to download and it functions extremely well. In order to install its latest APK, however, you’ll first have to make sure that your Android phone accepts Unknown Sources. To do so, head to your phone’s settings and find the security tap. Note that this may take up to several minutes. Once this process is completed, you’re ready to go. Simply restart your phone, and you’ll be all ad-free. In case you ever get bored of browsing the web without advertisement, you’ll always be able to disable AdAway if you so desire.

Once Adblock Plus has been installed, you’ll see the following screen. While you’re here you can simply press ‘’OK’’ to continue.

Now, you’ll be seeing the next screen that offers you plenty of options. Here you will be able to hide the Adblock Plus icon as well as to select your Ad-Blocking settings. The advanced settings provide you with options to start the App on boot, refresh, and refresh over WiFI.
