The New Nokia 3310: Publicity Stunt Or Best Selling Mobile Phone?
There it was, the moment we’ve all been waiting for! At day zero of the Mobile World Congress Barcelona, the new Nokia 3310 got announced. Throughout the past month, the Nokia 3310 was arguably the most discussed and anticipated phone. Highly popular at the beginning of this age and seen as the first real mobile phone, this Nokia cell phone brings along high nostalgic value.
Now that the real specifications of the renewed Nokia 3310 are known, industry specialists are wondering whether the phone really was worth the hype or if it was simply a marketing trick to bring attention to this relatively unknown company that now owns the right to produce Nokia phones.
Besides the name and the appearance of the phone, it seems to have little in common with the traditional Nokia 3310 launched in the year 2000. This latest Nokia phone that has just been announced at the MWC 2017 features an 2.4-Inch color display that holds a 320x240p resolution. Additionally, it comes with a 1200mAh battery that brings along 22 hours of continuous usage time. The phone’s 16MB internal memory can be upgraded via its micro SD card slot.
The new Nokia 3310 furthermore features a 2MP camera and a 3,5mm Audio jack – allowing you to listen to your favorite music and snap sophisticated images while on the move. It features a compact and sturdy design, but if it will be as tough and unbreakable as the original Nokia 3310 is, however, something we can not guarantee. Market specialists claim that, if you look closely at this latest
Market specialists claim that, if you look closely at this latest mobile phone, it is, in fact, a near copy of the company’s Nokia 150 that has been launched last year – arguing that the launch of the new Nokia 3310 was nothing more than a well-thought through marketing campaign. What the phone does have in common with its predecessor is that it comes with an epic battery life, compact body, and it features the classic Snake game.
This long anticipated Nokia phone will be available the second quarter of 2017 and will be priced around 49 Euros. Although it has little in common with the traditional model, it is expected that the nostalgic feeling around the 3310 and its cheap price will lead to a great success coming with a large number of sales.
