We have all been in the situation that we see something interesting online that we would like to share with others or save for later usage. Instead of remembering the website that you are currently visiting the easiest way to share and recall this certain moment is by means of making a screenshot. Although everybody knows how to capture a screenshot on your laptop or desktop PC, it might become a bit more complicated when using your smartphone.

As of late Chinavasion has been adding quite some Lenovo smartphones to our online assortment. In order to help our customers and loyal blog readers to get the hang of their new Lenovo phones we would like to share with you some basic ‘’how to’’ guides on using this Chinese smartphone brand – starting off today with ‘’How To Snap A Screenshot With Your Lenovo Smartphone’’.

Capturing a screenshot on your Lenovo smartphone is relatively easy once you get to know your way around the device. There are two main ways to take a screenshot on your Lenovo phone, each of which will be covered in detail below.

1) Making a print screen using your hardware buttons

By far the easiest and fastest way to snap a screen shot with your Lenovo device is by using your phone’s hardware buttons. Once you have the screen in front of you that you would like to capture locate your smartphone’s ‘’power button’’ and ‘’volume down button’’. At most of the newer model Lenovo smartphones the Power button can be found either at the right side of the device or at the top. The Volume buttons can be found at the top right of your device.

Once you have located both your phone’s Power and Volume down button try pressing them simultaneously. When doing so you will notice that your display flashes and, at the same time, you will hear the shutter sound. This means that you have successfully made your screen shot which has now been automatically saved in your phone’s Gallery App. Once you have captured your first screen shot a dedicated folder named ‘’Screenshots’’ will be created in your Gallary app where all your future print screens will be saved.

2) Making a print screen using the UI notification bar

A second method of snapping a screenshot on your Lenovo device is by using the Screenshot shortcut that can be found in your notification panel. Simply locate yourself to the screen you would like to capture and pull down the notifications panel of your smartphone. Once inside your notification panel you can easily find the Screenshot icon. If you can not find the Screenshot icon directly simply tap the down arrow(s) to expand more options from your notification panel. Once you have found it tap on the Screenshot icon and your phone will automatically snap a picture of your display. After capturing your screenshot you can simply open the Gallery app on your Lenovo where you will find your freshly captured print screen.

Why does it not work with my Lenovo phone?

After reading through this short guide you should be able to take a screenshot with your Lenovo smartphone. The above-mentioned methods should work with most Lenovo devices. If you are using an older Lenovo phone, however, that runs on an outdated Android version such as 2.3 or earlier, you are out of luck. With these Lenovo devices, you will need to download a third party screen capture App in the Play Store in order to be able to capture screenshots with your mobile phone.
