How To Speed Up Your Android Smartphone (or Tablet)
So, you got yourself a new shiny Android smartphone and everything is going great. But as time goes by, you notice that your new smartphone is not so new anymore. As your Android slows down, you may, quite reasonably, want things to get fast again. Here are a few tips.
Delete Unnecessary Apps
This one may seem like a no-brainer, but is also one of the most efficient ways to get your phone back to its old self again. So, go through all the apps on your smartphone and delete the ones you deem unnecessary. Make sure to delete the apps completely and not just remove the icons.
Lighten the Media Burden
Try not to keep your entire music or video library on your device, especially if you often film high-resolution videos. Keep you media on the cloud, transfer files back to the PC or get some additional storage – but do your best not to burden your smartphone with media files.
Remove the Widgets
Just like apps, widgets take up valuable space and suck the energy out of your smartphone. Take a look at the list of your widgets and delete the ones you are not using often
Clear Your RAM
Open up the recently used apps tab and swipe away the ones you don’t need running in the background. You can also go to Settings >Aapps > Running to see a full list of these applications. If you want to stop the app and wipe off its memory completely, you can also use one of the task killer tools for Android
Factory Reset
If none of the above ideas bring the desirable result, you can try an efficient yet drastic factory reset. It will allow you to start from scratch and keep your phone neat from the start. Make sure to remember the apps you need, as you will need to re-download them.
