Get your Samsung Gears ready – as pretty soon you will be able to hook up your Facebook account to “Like” and share your best moments and view others’ the way they happened – in 3D – reports The Verge. Next week, Oculus Video will let users sign into Facebook and get access to an individualized feed based on the people they follow. Users will also be able to add reactions to the videos and share them from within the VR.
While Facebook bought Gear all the way back in 2014, it took the social giant a pretty big chunk of time to figure out what exactly its plan was towards the new acquisition. However, just last month Facebook made a determined announcement: there now would be a dedicated social VR team exclusively responsible for finding a way to make virtual reality more sociable.
In addition to Facebook, there are some more new social features that the Gear VR will be sporting. Users will be able to create profiles through the Gear VR’s app to add friends and leave app reviews. Moreover, people will be able to create rooms for watching Vimeo video streams and multiplay VR’s third –person game Herobound
There is also talk about a dedicated app – for either the Gear VR or Oculus Rift.
