You Can Now Share Documents On WhatsApp
It’s always a good idea to keep your apps and software updated – you will get access to new features, better functionality, faster response time and lots more. Yet again, here’s the proof. WhatsApp has added a new document sharing feature – just PDF for now – but you now do have the option of sending a document to any of your contacts.
Here’s how it works.
First, make sure you are running the latest version of the app – the same for the person you are planning to start sending PDFs to. Updating your app is super simple.
On Android: go to Google Play Store and tap the three vertical lines in the top corner of the page, tap My Apps & Games – and check for any updates available for WhatsApp.
On iOS: launch the App Store and tap on the Updates tab at the bottom. See of there are updates available for WhattsApp – and if so, tap Update.
Now, you’re all set to use the new feature.
Here’s how to send a document on WhatsApp
- Open up WhatsApp and go to an existing Chat thread or Contacts to start a new conversation.
- Then, depending on your OS version, either look for a paper click icon at the top of the page or an arrow pointing upwards icon. Tap on the symbol and you will see all the available sharing options. That is, of course, if the update has rolled out on your phone. Find Share a Document and tap on it.
- If your contact has not yet updated their version of WhatsApp, you will see a message appear stating “Can’t send documents to Contact because Contact is on a version of WhatsApp that doesn’t support them”. All fair and square.
- If you don’t get any warnings – then it means that it’s all good and you’re good to go. Select the document you want to share and tap Send.
