  1. Freee TV

Freeetv.com is a website offering access to over 1900 different TV channels from around the world.  The site is organized by location (the Americas or Europe) plus by category.  In addition to TV programs, you can also watch different webcams from zoos and other locations.  Channels available include News Nation, MiMusica, CNBC, and much more.  The streams are all free, and you don’t need to even sign up for an account.

  1. YouTube

YouTube is a popular free streaming service that most people know for its social aspects.  It allows anyone with a free account to upload and share their own videos.  Some YouTube vloggers have become celebrities and actually make money with their videos.  While that’s a large part of the site’s draw, YouTube also offers some TV and movies for rent.  Some users have also uploaded shows or movies, although the copyright holders of these movies and TV shows do often request their removal.

  1. YipTV

YipTV offers a number of different live TV streaming options from around the world.  They have a number of high quality channels plus offer several bonus channels when you sign up.  Their streams include the following:

  • English and Spanish language shows
  • Sports, including the beIN Sports streams
  • Music videos
  • International news
  • Educational programming
  • Movies

The site allows you to watch shows on two devices at once if you opt for their free membership, but if you pay for premium, you get more than 90 different high quality channels and can stream on up to five devices.

  1. BBC iPlayer

Those who love British shows will want to check out the BBC iPlayer service, the official streaming service of the British company.  It offers a very large amount of programming, including many of the top British TV shows and even live sporting events.  It’s available on iOS apps, browsers, gaming consoles, and has a desktop app, too.  Content is available in HD, and there’s even some exclusive content that isn’t broadcast on the other BBC stations.

  1. Movie Watcher

Movie Watcher is the site to go to if you’re looking for online streaming movies.  Some of these are even recent theater releases, although these are often bootleg copies.  Still, many are very good and will let you watch your newest favorite movie again until it comes out on home video.  The site also has a number of TV shows available for streaming.

  1. NetFlix

NetFlix is probably the most well-known streaming site.  They have many movies and television series available, including some series that are fairly old and difficult to find on home video.  The company has also branched out into original content, creating a number of hit TV shows that have not only brought in many new subscribers but have also received critical acclaim and even won awards.  The company once only offered DVDs by mail, but now, their streaming-only option has become very popular.  NetFlix is available on dozens of different platforms and in many different countries.

  1. ITV Player

ITV Player, originally called ITV Online, is a very simple service to use that offers many live streams from the ITV network.  While it doesn’t have as large of a catalog as NetFlix or the BBC iPlayer, ITV still has a good number of offerings and has even hosted exclusive previews of shows before they air.

  1. LoveFilm Instant

LoveFilm Instant can be accessed on many different platforms and, like NetFlix, also has a DVD/Blu-ray by mail service.  It has almost 10,000 different TV episodes and movies available, and has even started doing original programming.

  1. EPC TV

EPC TV provides a wide variety of different channels from around the world.  For example, its US offerings, including sites like ESPN, CNN, NBC, Fox News, Disney, and Bravo.  There are even some local stations available.

  1. JumpTV

Jump TV is a streaming site that features many different international channels.  These channels are often hard to get in other countries, so for those living abroad or who want to work on learning another language, JumpTV is a great site.
