Xiaomi phones to be available in the US
Chinese Smartphone manufacture Xiaomi have gone from strength to strength, and in just 67 short years have become the biggest Smartphone maker in China. Over the past few years they have seen remarkable growth in emerging markets such as India and South America yet until now their handsets have not be available to western market. That however looks set to change in 2016.
Xiaomi’s handset range are typically cheaper than most of their competitors yet still bring flagship specification. As their first foray into the US market Xiaomi are making a few of their cheaper devices available for US consumers and these are set to include the Redmi 2, Mi3 and Mi4 which cost between $120 and $220 USD.
Many Xiaomi fans will be disappointed with this as their flagship 4G devices and higher end device won’t be available. Additionally many of the phones custom software won’t work in the US, but we can only hope that later in the year Xiaomi will make more of their devices available to US and European consumers, read more.
