iPhone 6 Not Pricey Enough? Just Add A $6,865 Case By Gold Dream
We have come to associate iPhones and other Apple products with a certain level of income and lifestyle – and they tend to hold the torch when it comes to expensive personal gadgetry.
However, for some manufacturers, it does not seem to be enough – and every year we see more and more companies coming up with accessories for Apple products that tend to overshadow the devices themselves when it comes to prices.
This year, it was the Swiss company Gold Dream that made the headlines with their top-of-the-line iPhone casing, with prices starting at more that $6, 500.
What makes the cases special? Everything – especially if you are into dragons, lions and skulls.
The cases feature alligator leather, gold, rubies and hand-painted designs. There are several collection to choose from – and each one has something special and luxurious on offer.
The Desert edition will have your iPhone encased in genuine leather with a 24ct. gold rim. And even this is not the ultimate fanciness – as you can have the rim custom-made in rose, white or yellow gold and choose between alligator, shark and ostrich leather.
The second line, Carbon Fiber, embellishes your device with a 4KB tech carbon back and a gold frame. The top of the line models are labeled as Masterpieces and will have your phone sporting hand-engraved dragons with ruby eyes or hand-painted lions on alligator skin.
With the pricing equal to ten new iPhones, you may wonder if there is really a market for all this incomprehensible luxury. But it turns out, there are quite a few companies that aim to cater to the elusive few.
When it comes to crème de la crème, the most expensive iPhone 6 case is worth the astonishing $2,700,000 and is handcrafted at Amosu. The bespoke case is made with over 6000 diamonds in an 18k gold shell. If interested to get your hands on the case, you will be waiting for two month as it’s being hand-crafted to perfection.
While you may be naturally wondering as to why people may want to treat their phone cases as pieces of Rennaissance art and drop the big bucks for something that will have to be changed as soon as the new model comes out – there is an even bigger questions at hand. Does your phone need a case at all? The debate has been going on forever and there seems to be no end in sight, with users firmly clinging to this or that side and reasonable arguments being presented by both parties.
