The Unbutu Smartphone That Sold Out In Under An Hour
The BQ Unbutu phone went on sale this week and sold out in less than 1 hour. So what makes this phone so special and why is the demand for it so high?
Canonical and BQ are staging ‘flash sales’ with limited numbers of the Aquaris E4.5 phone that features an Unbutu operating system and retails at around 169 Euros.
The first of these was earlier this week and while there were some technical issues related to the high demand and resulting in webpage issues the sale went better than could have been hoped for.
Due to the technical issues, a very high demand and a second batch of phones went on sale but with 12000 order requests per minute they sold out in less than 10 minutes.
This may have frustrated some who were unable to get their hands on the device but there will be more flash sales in Europe later in the year as Canonical and BQ aim to build a market for Unbutu phones.
The Aquaris E4.5 is a fairly standard mid range phone and its main selling point is the Unbutu OS which gives it some exclusivity especially for those looking at this developing market and how to capitalize on creating new software and built compatibility for these devices.
Other features of this phone are a 4.5 inch display, MediaTek quad-core chipset with Cortex-A7 CPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of on-board storage, Micro SD card support, an 8-megapixel rear camera as wellas a 5-megapixel front camera.
If you want to try your look at the next flash sale you will have to keep your eyes on the BQ webpage, however if your happy with an Android device then check out the great devices on offer from Chinavasion that are available worldwide and at wholesale prices.
