Microsoft is expanding its preview of Office for Android tablets, allowing anyone to download the software from Google Play. Previously Microsoft offered preview version of the app, but only for certain people who were invited for testing.
The Android app runs on KitKat and Lollipop systems and requires 7″ -10.1″ tablet hardware, that are ARM-based, but that’s the majority of existing Android tablets covered. The final apps will be available for free, in the first half of 2015 as part of Microsoft’s mobile Office plans, alongside support to save and access Dropbox documents.
Now Android tablet users can simply download the previews of Word, Excel and PowerPoint from Google Play.
