Android 5.0 Lollipop has now been launched
Following announcements from Google last month, Android 5.0 has been released and is starting to be launched on the new Lexus. If you love Android, then you will certainly enjoy their latest flavor, which is called ‘Lollipop’.
Android 5.0 won’t be limited to just your phone and tablet but also it will be available on your watch, your TV and when you get behind the wheel of your car, making it more diverse than before.
As this operating system works over a varied range of technologies, you can pick up where you left off. So for example you are listening to an album on your tablet while you are at home and then suddenly you decide to head outside to work and you take your phone to listen the rest of the album, the album will continue where it last finished on your tablet. This is not just limited to music but photos and apps as well.
A cool feature is that you can set which content, contacts and notifications can reach you so you can limit the interruptions whenever you want to.
Also in Android 5.0 Lollipop, you’ll find that the recent apps button has been given a full make over so instead of two overlapping rectangles the button is now a single square. The reason for the change is that this design follows with after the popular circular Home button and the triangular back button.
When you view the recent apps, you will notice it has a different lay-out from Android 4.4. In Android 4.4 the apps app name was left-aligned and connected to the app icon with a line while in the new 5.0, the recently used apps will display in a scrolling stacked arrangement.
The battery save feature can extend your device’s usage time by up to 90 minutes and now it’s easier than ever to know exactly how much battery life is left with an estimated count down before you need to charge, and when you’re charging it also displays approximately how long until it will be fully charged and ready to be used.
They say sharing is caring, and the Android 5.0 allows you to share your devices by creating guests accounts or multiple user accounts so that your friends or family can log in and use your device. In addition there is an Android Smart Lock to secure your phone or tablet by pairing it with a trusted device like your wearable gadget or your vehicle.
