Microsoft Launch $199 Fitness Band
At $199 the new fitness band from Microsoft can last a couple of days on one charge, that’s not as long as the New Chinese Manufactured Android Smart Watch but its not bad. This Smart Band marks Microsoft’s latest push into the wearable’s market. However they will have to compete with a lot of cheaper Wearable Gadgets and Smart Watch competition from many rivals.
In a statement they said “This is just the beginning of a multi-year vision for Microsoft in the health & fitness and wearable’s category”
Tech firms like Samsung, Google and Apple have all jumped into the health market but many are restricted to only using specific platforms so are not universally compatible. The Microsoft band that has been compared to the Samsung Galaxy Gear Fit is different in this way as it can reportedly work with all major mobile OS systems as well as connect to social media such as Twitter and Facebook.
Coming just in time for the holidays is surely no coincident, and one suspects that Microsoft may be expecting some purchases from those guilty of over indulgence in the coming months and festive period.
The Microsoft Brand is relatively week in the wearable gadgets market and faces an uphill struggle but the bonus of compatibility across a range of platforms could be very enticing.
