World’s First Levitating Bluetooth Speaker

Connected to your smartphone and other Bluetooth devices, the Om/One levitating speaker can stream music from services such as Spotify. The device is basically a tennis ball-sized ‘orb’ speaker which hovers 1.2inches (3cm) above a magnetic base (which requires an AC adapter). There’s a microphone on board, so it can serve as a speakerphone as well, allowing the levitating orb to take calls, too.

“The fact that it levitates gives us an angle on some audio techniques that make the speaker a lot better,” said David DeVillez, the co-founder and CEO of Om Audio.

Now the speaker is available to pre-order from the firm’s website for $179. OM reps expect to ship the first batch in December.
