Sproutling, a baby monitor designed by a team of former Apple and Google engineers, straps onto your baby’s ankle and measure vital signs, and provides insights on sleep patterns and mood. So parents can learn via app what’s “normal” for each newborn.
It pairs a wearable band with a mobile app to deliver the results of 16 measurements in real time such as:
Heart rate
Predicting when the baby will wake up
If the baby rolled over onto their stomach while sleeping
The baby’s mood when he or she wakes up
The brightness and noise levels of the room, in case the baby has a hard time sleeping
The room temperature
The device’s battery lasts about three days and takes about two hours for wireless charging.
Parents can now pre-order online now for $249 and it will ship in March 2015. Sproutling will retail for $299 when it hits the market.
