ACTON RocketSkates: Wear Your Transportation Everywhere!
ACTON Global, a Southern California-based alternative-transport startup has presented at the Wearable Technologies Conference with its R RocketSkates, electric-powered footwear for city dwellers.

Powered by lithium-ion batteries, the skates which resemble Lego on wheels can let you zip around the sidewalk completely hands-free. Simply strap it on and you’ll be ready to go. You can tilt your feet forward to speed up; lean back to slow down, and keep track of your skating prowess and battery life using an iOS app.

The founder is seeking $50,000 via the crowd-funding platform Kickstarter, but at last count, he had raised more than $400,000. If successful, the RocketSkates will come in three models — Rocket Red at 45 minutes (or 6 miles, costs $499), Terminator Chrome at 70 minutes (or 8 miles, $599) and Deep Space Black, which lasts for 90 minutes (or 10 miles, $699).
