An 18-Year-Old Wins 2014 Google Code Jam on His First Try!

A Belarus teenager, Gennady Korotkevich beat 26 other coders from all around the world and won 2014 Google Code Jam Finals.
The teen received $15,000 in cash for his win. Last year, he actually participated but didn’t win the competition because he was only 17 years old at the time while Code Jam is only open to people who are above 18 years old.

Nearly 20,000 programmers participated in four online rounds this year; 25 contestants qualify. The second Place went to Evgenii Kapun, Russia; Yuzhou Gu of China took the third.

Google Code Jam is an international programming competition put on by Google each year, in which the competitors should create advanced computer programs to solve very difficult word programs.The competition began in 2003 as a means to identify top engineering talent for potential employment at Google.
