Subwing, a New Water-sport Craze Sweeping Across Europe
A Norwegian teenager has invented a a 4ft carbon-fibre ‘wing’ that makes you feel like you’re flying underwater.
Named ‘Subwing’, it’s a device with two hydrodynamic wing that is towed along by a speedboat to enable a person to be pulled along underwater.
Once “flying” beneath the waves, riders can hold the rubber grips at the front of the wings, or grasp a rubber grab loop in the rear. Angling or twisting the wings allows them to steer the device up and down, left and right, and performing spins.
You can get your own Subwing from a local dealer with the fiberglass version setting you back $490 or if you have a little extra to spend then you can get your hands on a carbon fiber version for $850 to $895.
