Hydrogen Power to Recharge Your Phone

Most people would agree that mobile devices are a good thing. They have revolutionized the world and we have come a long way since those first clunky phones introduced in the early 80’s.

Thankfully things have moved on but as we get more and more devices with a greater amount of application, we find that they are getting ever more power hungry and therein lays the problem.

Power isn’t always so portable, how can we recharge our gadgets? Well solar power has been around for a while and this can be harnessed to provide us power when we’re not near the mains supply but not satisfied with this, scientists and engineers have put their heads together to bring us a new energy source, Hydrogen.

Ok, Hydrogen isn’t new; it has been used in cars and a range of other systems but has never been very compact or portable. Well now a new range of power banks are being developed that use hydrogen power. They work by exploiting a chemical reaction that converts hydrogen into protons and electrons, this is exploited to create electricity and water. Once you run out of Hydrogen you just buy a new hydrogen canister or get it refilled.  You could be seeing these Eco friendly a lot more in the future.
