Bitcoin Is Now Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas
Viva Las Vegas, the Casino capital in the desert of the good old United States of America. The D Las Vegas Casino Hotel and the Golden Gate Hotel and Casino have started to accept Bitcoin digital currency. Bitcoin is a currency that is generated digitally and became well known through the Silk Road website that only accepted this currency. There was also a story of a guy who threw away a laptop that had over a million dollars worth of Bitcoins stored on it (You can read about that story here).
While some countries like China have flat-out rejected Bitcoin, other countries are capitalizing on what is considered the future of currency as a bank in London will offer storage and ‘mining’, which is a term used to describe the method of generating more Bitcoin currency. Now Las Vegas has seen the opportunity and possibly the potential of Bitcoin and some casinos have already incorporated it as a legal tender. Using BitPay as to complete the transaction, the Golden Gate casino is the oldest casino in Las Vegas and has capitalized on being the first with integrating new technologies, like it did with the telephone in 1907. There are concerns with this currency as it has no regulators and things can turn sour pretty soon; however Las Vegas still maintains it is only accepting US dollars on the actually gambling halls.
