MTK6592

On November 20th last year, Mediatek announced the launch of its MT6592 processor, the word’s first true 8-core chip. Now this THL T200 is one of the first phones that is powered with this processor.

Gorilla Glass 3

Gorilla Glass is a type of glass that is thin, light and damage resistant, which makes them excellent for electronic devices such as Android phones and laptop displays. By 2010 Gorilla Glass had been already used in approximately 20 percent of mobile handsets worldwide, which is a whooping 200 million units. Just two years later Gorilla Glass II was introduced and by the end of 2012 Corning, the producer of Gorilla Glass, announced that over one billion mobile devices used Gorilla Glass. Gorilla Glass 2 is 20 percent thinner than the original Gorilla Glass.

At the CES 2013, Corning announched Gorilla Glass III that is up to 3 times more damage resistant and 40% more scratch resistant than Gorilla Glass 2. Not surprisingly, THL build it’s latest THL T200 flagship phone the latest Gorilla Glass III.

NFC (Near Field Communication)

Since we get lots of questions about NFC at our customer support department.  We would like to take the chance to explain it here. NFC is nothing new in today’s smartphones and it’s actually becoming more and more common. NFC stands for ‘Near Field Communication’, and as the name would suggest, is a function on your Android phone or tablet which allows it to communicate with other devices when they are near by. More specifically you can do the following:

  • Transferring information, files, photos between electronic devices.
  • Importing personal contacts.
  • Connecting to other devices such as Android watches or even external camera lens.
  • The use of NFC Tags.
  • NFC game controllers.
