Number of Wechat Overseas Users Double
Announced just a month ago that Wechat has more than 70 million overseas users, but today this number has exceeded to 100 million. Compared to three months ago, it has doubled.
It is reported that the current monthly Wechat live users reached 236 million, an increase of 176.8% compared to the last year. While users of a popular IM application WhatsApp has been more than 300 million.
Apart from the large market share in India, Indonesia and Malaysia, Wechat is also the most downloaded IM application in Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Mexico, and other countries in July of this year.
In addition, in order to expand its overseas market, last month, Wechat has invited Lionel Andrés Messi as its newest spokesperson, and the ads will be broadcasted in 15 countries.
