Every week we cover Android gaming on Wednesday, followed by Top 10 app updates on Friday. Now every Monday (or Tuesday) we will look back and see which ones were the most crowd-pleasing among our audience. Read on for the 10 most popular Android apps from last week among your peers.

1. Circle Alarm

This week most of our popular apps came from the Android Rookies column, with Circle Alarm taking the top spot. The free app features a clean circle time picker and all the basic functions you would expect from an alarm clock. Check it out if you need a new alarm clock and be sure to leave your feedback in the Google Play store so the developer can keep improving it.

2. Pictoreo

Pictoreo is a simple app that lets you create photos with motion. It was just released and several users have reported issues with force closes, but the developer has been responding to feedback and pushing out bug fixes. Some users also complained the app requires you to register an account to join the community and share photos.

This week we had two apps that let you manage your phone from your desktop computer, and was likely the more popular one since it works in the browser. The app lets you send text messages, locate your phone, activate the spycam, share images, manage contacts and more. Since it was just released, you might want to check out the more matureAirDroid for similar features.

4. Right Click

If you are a beginner photographer, Right Click could help you improve your skills. The app helps you visually understand and experience the various aspects of photography and how they effect your pictures on your phone. This is just the first version of the app, so be sure to leave some feedback if you want to see it improve.

5. SnapPea

SnapPea is the other app that lets you manage your Android phone from your desktop, but this service requires a Windows PC. It does have better reviews than and it can sync your iTunes library, but it requires a native Windows client. Once again, you might want to check out the more mature AirDroid for similar features.

6. File Expert

File Expert is a full featured file manager that was just updated to version 5.0. The latest version includes an all new look and tons of features like support for all the cloud storage services and file transfers over Bluetooth, NFC and WiFi direct. Make sure to try out the latest version and let us know if you like the new design.

7. Kingsoft Office

Kingsoft Office was also just upgraded to version 5.0 and includes a new design for phones and tablets. This full featured productivity suite allows you to edit Office files, and it’s free. It supports cloud storage services like Google Drive, Dropbox and, so you can view and edit your files with their native app.

8. NBA 2K13

The most popular game last week was NBA 2K3 from developer 2K Games. It sells for $7.99, but I installed it and I think it’s a worthy purchase if you’re a hardcore NBA fan. The graphics are not even close to the console version, but it’s still the most visually impressive basketball game for Android. The game also features a classic control scheme or a one-touch mode that lets you manage the action with a single finger.

9. Field Trip

The hype around Google Lab’s Field Trip app has died down, but it still received enough clicks to make our weekly Top 10 list. This app allows you to learn about everything from local history to the latest and best places to shop, eat and have fun. Content is sourced from a dozen different publications, and I have enjoyed playing with the app as I travel around my state.

10. GameQ

Rounding out the Top 10 is a digital magazine called GameQ from online retailer GameFly. Unfortunately, the app only works on a tablet, but it does work on newer devices like the Nexus 7. If you enjoy the GameQ format and want some additional gaming news, then check out NVision from NVIDIA.
