IFA is the world‘s leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances. IFA in Berlin is the industry‘s top trade event. The fair is open from 31 August to 5 September 2012.
At this year’s IFA consumer electronics show, companies demonstrated a huge range of new technologies: ultra-high definition TVs, hybrid tablets based on Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 8, Android smartphones and the first device based on the next generation of Windows Phone.
Let’s see the latest top technologies from IFA 2012
LG, Sony, Samsung and other tech giants all showed ‘4K’ TVs, which jump ahead from the current 1920-by-1080 pixels standard (that’s Full HD 1080p) to a massive 3840-by-2160 pixels. It’s two times higher resolution than FullHD.
Smart TVs get smarter with game download service. New technology lets viewers watch two different shows on the same full screen at the same time, using 3D glasses which block out every other frame.
Hybrid tablets – laptop tablet
Hybrid models with slide out keyboards are back in vogue. Samsung’s Ativ Smart PC is a Windows 8 tablet with a clip on keyboard, a bit like a Microsoft-powered Asus Transformer tablet, while Sony’s VAIO Duo 11 actually hides the keyboard in a slide out section underneath the screen.
Samsung announced the very first smartphone to run Windows Phone 8. We’re starting to see more screens that are larger than 4.5-inch, with high hardware specs and 10+ megapixel cameras.
