Notice Regarding EMS Delivery Service to UK During 2012 Olympic Games
According to the notice from the Royal Mail Service (EMS’s delivery agent in UK), mail delivery in vicinity of Olympic venues will be severely affected due to the implementation of the Olympic Games security measures. For specific affected areas and time, refer to this form from Royal Mail Service.
Column 2 is the zip code; columns 3 and 4 are control start and end time. The earliest control starts from July 2. After the Olympic Games, because of Paralympic Games, safety control in some areas will be implemented for more than two months.
Since UPS is the designated courier service provider in the Games, the Royal Mail Service can not enter the controlled area to complete EMS and international parcel delivery service. The Royal Mail will provide solution as follows:
The Royal Mail will send a letter to the recipients, to provide five kinds of options. The recipient must contact Royal Mail within 21 days, in order to receive / deliver the mail. Otherwise, the parcel will be returned. These five ways are as following:
1. the consignee chooses to deliver the parcel to a post office, and arrange self-collect at the post office;
2. To pay £25, the Royal Mail hands over the parcel to UPS for Delivery;
3. Switched to another uncontrolled address in London
4. Self pick up at the processing center
5. Return to the original sending postal office
To ensure that your orders are delivered in time, Chinavasion suggests you choose UPS for orders sent to areas that are affected by the Olympic Games security control. Should you have any further questions, please contact our customer support at
