It’s been a busy week at Chinavasion.

Not only did most of the team arrive back at work and but we saw the launch of the GIANT 7 Inch Touch Screen GPS Navigator (FM Transmitter, Bluetooth) with the very clear 800 x 480 screen resolution.

 

We also managed to come out with the very disruptive Chinese New Year, unscathed with happy resellers and quicker shipping than competitors could ever dream of.

So without further ado lets look at some of the more common questions we saw this week.

The CVFD-M83 has skype on the image available but the product description doesn’t tell about skype, it tells about the Gizmo only, so does the product have skype?

You say this phone has Skype but I can only see writing for Gizmo5/Nimbuzz, so does the product have Skype?

When we started getting in WiFi-capable phones like the Odyssey – WiFi Quadband Dual-SIM Cellphone w/ 3 Inch Touchscreen and the Thunder – Quadband Dual SIM Wifi Touchscreen Worldphone we realised a fantastic potential, the ability to make calls for free with Voip services like Skype!

And while you can’t run Skype directly through some of our phones it is actually to your advantage because Nimbuzz and Gizmo5 is essentially Skype on amphetamines!

Not do they let you log into your Skype account and do everything that you could do through Skype normally, you can also use it to log into several other IM/VOIP accounts all in the same interface.

• Do I really need to set my computer to Beijing time in order for the software to work?Your computer needs to have its home city and date style to be Beijing style. You can set the date and time on your computer to your local time, but the computers home city and date format should be set to Beijing.
• How can I forward or delete a text message?
  When you are browsing through your text messages, you can just touch and hold down on the screen for 2 seconds and a pop up window will appear with options to delete, forward, etc.
• Is there a faster way to put the phone in silent mode?
  To put the phone in silent mode, press the power ON/OFF button and you will be given the option to switch off the phone or put it on silent mode.
• How can I access the App Store directly from the Android superphone?
  First, go to andappstore.com using your computer, and download an app called “AndAppStore”, This app lets you access the (free) store directly on your new Robot Android superphone and download apps, wallpapers, pictures, and more. Download the “AndAppStore” and install it via the included Micro SD card, then run the File Manager on the Robot superphone, and install the “AndAppStore”.
